Wednesday 9 April: Virgin Australia is proudly uniting footy fans from coast to coast, making it easier than ever to get to the AFL’s Gather Round. As the official airline of the AFL and Gather Round, Virgin Australia is going all in, delivering great value fares, additional flights and unforgettable fan moments.
To meet demand and help supporters follow their teams to Adelaide, Virgin Australia has added extra flights to and from Adelaide across its network. In total, more than 380 flights and 65,000 seats will operate into and out of Adelaide this week, from Monday 7 April to Sunday 13 April 2025, giving more fans the opportunity to take part in the action.
Taking the experience to new heights, Virgin Australia is also hosting an exclusive Hawks Fan Flight from Melbourne to Adelaide giving lucky supporters the chance to hear from their favourite Hawthorn players on the plane and kickstart their Gather Round weekend in style.
Adding to the excitement on the ground, the Virgin Australia Fan Activation in front of the Virgin Australia Lounge Adelaide Airport will give travellers the chance to hold and snap a photo with the iconic AFL Premiership Cup and go in the draw for a chance to win tickets to the 2025 Toyota AFL Grand Final. The activation will run from Wednesday 9 April 2025 to Saturday 12 April 2025, 8am to 4pm daily.

Virgin Australia has been the official airline of the AFL since 2011, transporting players, coaches, league officials and support staff on more than 5,000 flights (or 183,000 seats), carrying more than 3,600 tonnes in club cargo in that time, while sharing the magic of the game all over the country.
