The following fares are applicable to bookings made on or after 19 August 2021. For bookings made on or before 18 August 2021, see our previous fares.

The information below sets out the specific fare rules, inclusions, fees and surcharges for each fare type. These are in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

The information below sets out change and cancellation rules that are applicable for all bookings including those made using Velocity Points + Pay.

Some fare rules are different for bookings made using Velocity Points + Pay. These conditions are listed below.

Changing your flight

What if Virgin Australia changes your flight?

If we need to change your flight before or on the day of travel, we will either contact you or your travel agent will contact you to advise you of the change to your flight details.

If the new flight time is not suitable to you, you can contact our Guest Contact Centre or your nominated travel agent to request a different flight time.

If we cannot make suitable alternative arrangements, you may request a travel credit or a refund of the total price you paid for your impacted flight by contacting our Guest Contact Centre or your travel agent.

Cancelling your flight

If you cancel your upcoming flight, the below cancellation fees may apply.

Cancellation fees apply per person, per booking. Change and cancellation fees are not payable where you are entitled to a refund under the Australian Consumer Law. For fees in other currencies, fees listed below will be converted to local currency as per daily exchange.

What if Virgin Australia cancels your flight?

If we cancel your flight, we will move you to the next available Virgin Australia flight to the same destination without charge.

If the new flight time is not suitable to you, there may be some circumstances where we will seek to transfer you to a service to the same destination operated by another carrier, if this is suitable to you.

If we cannot make suitable alternative arrangements, you may request a travel credit or a refund of the total price you paid for your impacted flight by contacting our Guest Contact Centre or your travel agent.

When you make a booking, change or cancel your flight, the below fees and surcharges may apply.

Guest Contact Centre fee - $40

Airport Service fee - $40

Velocity Membership Contact Centre fee - $40 or 5,200 Points (Points + Pay or Any Seat)

Card payment fee (payment surcharge)

To maximise customer choice we offer the ability to avoid paying a card payment fee (payment surcharge) online by paying your booking in full using the POLi Direct Payment option, or call the Guest Contact Centre with a gift voucher.
