In response to Rex announcing the immediate suspension of its 737 jet operations, Virgin Australia is offering support to Rex customers with rebooking on an equivalent Virgin Australia service free of charge. 

Customers with bookings on the following routes will be eligible for this offer:

  • Sydney to Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast and Adelaide
  • Melbourne to Brisbane, Hobart, Perth, Canberra, Gold Coast and Adelaide
  • Adelaide to Brisbane, Perth
  • Brisbane to Cairns

Please complete this booking request form and attach proof of your Rex booking (invoice or booking confirmation with destination and date of travel). Once your Rex booking has been validated, we will rebook you within 72 hours with the most suitable itinerary and email you a confirmation.

  • Customer must hold a current booking with Rex for a flight on an overlapping route that has a service operated by Virgin Australia (Eligible Rex Customer).
  • Subject to space available (standby availability), Virgin Australia will offer an Eligible Rex Customer an Economy class seat on a Virgin Australia operated flight, to a port where Virgin Australia operates that matches the customer’s original destination with Rex. Customers with a Rex business class booking will be accommodated in a Business Class seat where available or otherwise will be offered an Economy class seat.
  • Virgin Australia will determine, in its sole discretion, whether a customer is an Eligible Rex Customer and whether space is available on a Virgin Australia operated flight for the Eligible Rex Customer.
  • Flights are subject to Virgin Australia’s Conditions of Carriage, Economy Choice fare rules, Baggage Policy, Privacy Policy and other relevant policies, which are located on the Virgin Australia website at www.virginaustralia.com.
