Virgin Australia regional aircraft on tarmac

Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA) has been named World’s Best Regional Airline by AirlineRatings.com for the second consecutive year.

This award considers airlines globally, evaluating them on passenger comfort, feedback, and product consistency, with each airline assessed across its entire fleet and network.

VARA Executive General Manager Nathan Miller said the achievement was wonderful recognition of the VARA team and further cemented the airline’s commitment to providing exceptional service for its clients and passengers in the state.

“Virgin Australia Regional Airlines continues to go from strength to strength and I am particularly proud to see our WA-based operation recognised for the second year in a row as World’s Best Regional Airline,” Mr Miller said.

“VARA has been on a significant transformation journey over the past few years with a number of major investments in the regional aviation sector, so this recognition comes down to the hard work of all our people in the west, who have been firmly focused on improving our business and delivering a strong product and service experience to our regional market.”

CEO of Airline Ratings, Sharon Petersen said VARA was awarded Best Regional Airline for its excellence in service, reliability, and overall passenger experience.

"VARA has consistently delivered an outstanding travel experience, combining efficiency and customer focus to meet the needs of regional and Fly in Fly Out (FiFo) travellers," she said.

This recognition comes as the airline prepares to open a brand-new hangar at Perth Airport and welcome brand-new Embraer E190-E2 aircraft to its fleet, securing its future growth and strengthening its position as a leading regional airline in the state.
